Gaming hardware manufacturer Hyperkin has announced a new controller that will be compatible with PC, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and more. The Xenon controller is designed to look and play like an Xbox 360 controller. A typical design choice by Hyperkin and one that they have tried to stay true to for much of the company’s history.
Hyperkin was founded in 2006 in Los Angeles, California. Hyperkin has a long history of emulating and manufacturing outdated or out-of-style gaming hardware. From old consoles to controllers and more. While they aren’t the most well-known in the world, the company’s work is a lifeline for gamers who want to play older titles and games without needing to try and emulate the hardware or software for themselves. A true pain for anyone who has actually tried to do so.
The company has emulated Nintendo, Xbox, PlayStation, and even other companies’ hardware like
Sega and Atari. Allowing for many “lost” titles to see the light of day once more. No doubt this has helped expand their business significantly. And this new Xenon controller is just another part of this.
In a tweet, Hyperkin the company announced that pre-orders for the controller will be available starting on May 5. With the official release date being slated for June 6, fans are already getting hyped for the Xenon controller, though requests for a wireless version are starting to grow.
Either way, the controller will allow owners to play their favorite games while using a controller of their childhood. A true piece of nostalgia for anyone who had an Xbox 360 as a kid. Even if the Xenon isn’t the official thing.
